EPISODE #011

KYLE WILLKOM

ACTION PACKED LEADERSHIP

“Millenials and Gen Z don’t want free food and bean bag chairs. They want to be heard, to find purpose in their work, and to create impact.”

What do you get when you combine an acoustic guitar player, a rapper and a dynamic motivational speaker?

You get the founder of Action Packed Leadership, Kyle Willkom.

Kyle is the author of two books on leadership, ran six full marathons, and is the creator of Action Packed Leadership — an online student leadership course Empowering High School Students to Think Positive, Take Action, and Create Change. Kyle travels the country, guitar in hand, delivering inspirational speeches that are funny, interactive, and life-changing. His speeches motivate and challenge students to have a vision, set goals, accomplish big things, and become a better version of themselves.

As someone who’s spent the last decade working with Gen Z and Millenials, Kyle has a pulse on what a majority of today’s workforce is looking for out of a leader and the kind of culture they want to immerse themselves in for over a third of their lives.

Here’s a hint — it’s not ping-pong tables, free food, and bean bag chairs.

We also discuss the power of modeling, what the reality vision gap is and how you can close it, and why an Army field training exercise helped him make the Marquette University Men’s Basketball team. Let’s dive in.
